Cloud Storage Inheritance — Can Your Family Access Baidu Netdisk and iCloud Photos?

What About Baidu Netdisk

Baidu Netdisk has no dedicated digital legacy or inheritance feature. The user agreement states that accounts belong to Baidu and users have usage rights only. Accounts that are inactive for extended periods may be restricted or reclaimed. Family can contact Baidu customer service with a death certificate and proof of kinship to request handling, but the process is opaque and the review timeline and outcome are uncertain. The practical move: download important files to local backup while the account is active, and store the account password encrypted in a digital legacy vault.

What About iCloud Photos

iCloud is Apple's cloud storage. Apple offers the Legacy Contact feature: you designate up to five contacts who can access your iCloud data — including photos, notes, mail, and iCloud Drive files — using an access key and a death certificate. Review typically takes one to four weeks. But Legacy Contact does not unlock the iPhone itself — your family still needs the device passcode to access local data on the phone.
